Government Plans to set up a New Directorate General for Gwadar District

The auditing team of Pakistan government has decided to set up a new Directorate General for Audit of CPEC. The audit will be done for the projects planned for Gwadar District, to perform detailed scrutiny of the billion dollar projects under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Gwadar District- CPEC Audit Will Now Be Conducted Via New Directorate-General

The Pakistan Audit Department has extensively enhanced its role where they are accountable for multibillion-dollar projects held under the CPEC in Gwadar District. Along with this, due to the huge amount of money being invested in various federal and provincial governments had been sending requests for the creation of special audit teams involved in Smart Port City Gwadar. The Auditor General of Pakistan, Javaid Jehangir gave this reason for the foundation of the setup of the New Directorate General while addressing the officers of Pakistan Audit (PA) and Account Service (AS).

The AGP also mentioned that the audit department had to cope with the changing structure of the government due to which they needed some extensive reforms.

In order to meet the expectations of the governments, the department of AGP has carried out various special audit assignments.

The event was attended by senior officials of Pakistan Audit and the Accounts Service. The AGP boosted the confidence of the young passing-out officers for being the future of Pakistan.
